Kawartha Lakes recently concluded a comprehensive consultation to shape its Economic Development Strategy, gathering insights from 149 community members, business leaders, municipal staff, and partner organizations. We extend our thanks to everyone who participated in interviews, focus groups, and surveys, contributing valuable perspectives to this initiative.

Following this extensive consultation, a working session of 29 community and business leaders, local organizations, and municipal staff brought the feedback to life. Together, they identified four central themes that will shape the future of economic growth in Kawartha Lakes:

• Being Investment Ready – Cultivating a reputation as a business-friendly community that actively supports investment.
• Being Connected – Strengthening partnerships to drive shared economic success.
• Community Building Through Placemaking – Revitalizing downtown's and nurturing community spaces to fuel local growth.
• Diversifying the Economy – Attracting, retaining, and growing businesses across a range of industries.
