Shaping the Future of Wayfinding in the City of Kawartha Lakes
The City of Kawartha Lakes is developing a new Municipal and Tourism Wayfinding Strategy to improve how residents and visitors navigate our communities. This project will review existing signage, identify gaps and challenges, and outline a clear plan to create a consistent, user-friendly wayfinding system across the municipality.
The strategy will guide the design of signage that helps people find key destinations—such as parks, trails, downtown areas, cultural sites, and tourist attractions—more easily and confidently. Public and stakeholder input will play a key role in shaping the vision and priorities of the new system.
The final strategy will act as a roadmap for future implementation, ensuring wayfinding across the City of Kawartha Lakes is clear, accessible, and reflective of the community’s identity.
Why This matters
Clear, consistent wayfinding helps people feel confident moving through the City of Kawartha Lakes. Improving signage makes it easier for residents and visitors to find key destinations, supports local businesses and tourism, enhances community identity, and creates a more welcoming, accessible experience for everyone.
