At the October 19 Council meeting, Mayor Letham will ask Council for a final decision on the Lindsay ATV Connection Route. A resolution status report will also be coming to Council on October 19 to serve as a reminder of the progress of the Off Road Vehicle Task Force and decisions made to date.

“A determination needs to be made regarding the urban connection route in Lindsay one way or another,” commented Mayor Letham. “Over the course of this past year, we have considered different options, heard many deputations, received many emails, correspondence and survey results. It’s time to stop trying to spin the data and make an informed decision.”

An urban connection route in Lindsay was one of the first discussion matters brought forward by the Task Force to Council.

“We have had an overwhelming response from the public regarding this matter and at this point, the community has become divided,” stated Letham. “We need to put this part of the conversation to bed. By the end of the discussion, there should be a clear direction on whether the municipality will proceed with a pilot connection route through Lindsay or not.”

The agenda for the October 19 meeting will be released before the end of day through the municipality’s website. The October 19 Council meeting will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the municipality’s YouTube channel.
