Phase 2 - Cultural Centre Feasibility Task Force (CCFTF) Meeting

Work has started up again for the Cultural Centre feasibility study. Since Council struck its Task Force to initiate Phase 2 of the Cultural Centre Feasibility Study, two meetings have been held in the Council Chambers and live streamed on the City's YouTube Channel. The first CCFTF meeting was held on September 19, 2023 with all members in attendance. The Chair and Vice Chair positions were filled and a review of the Terms of Reference and a work completed to date summary was provided. The second meeting was held on October 25, 2023. Task Force members were introduced to Giaimo Architecture and Nordicity Consulting whom have hit the ground running, launching their work based on the Task Force's five deliverables for this Phase 2 study:

  • share the results of the Phase 1 feasibility study
  • inform further site exploration, selection and feasibility analysis
  • review refined operating, resource and capital cost estimates presented in the Phase 1 report
  • inform a fundraising and financing strategy
  • receive and assess recommendations for the preferred operating model and site location for the Cultural Centre for Kawartha Lakes
