Kawartha Lakes Business Count
Kawartha Lakes has launched the 2026 Business Count survey, in collaboration with local Chambers of Commerce and the Lindsay Downtown BIA.
The Kawartha Lakes Business Count is a collaborative initiative that supports local economic development. The survey gives a snapshot of the Kawartha Lakes business community and employment properties. "The Business Count survey is an opportunity to connect with the local business community," says Rebecca Mustard, Manager of Economic Development at Kawartha Lakes. "Throughout the summer, our team, along with our partner organizations, will engage directly with businesses and respond to questions and gather data. At the end of the season, the data collected will be reviewed to identify trends and patterns. The Insight Report will be produced to give a 2026 snapshot of the local economy."
The snapshot is important as it:
- Provides a picture of the Kawartha Lakes economy
- Provides improved regional employment and workforce data
- Assists in making informed decisions related to job and economic growth
- Enhances communication channels between businesses and the municipality
This summer, teams of Business Count surveyors will be visiting businesses in downtowns and employment areas across Kawartha Lakes. The geographic focus of the in-person survey is in the downtowns and industrial areas of Bobcaygeon, Coboconk and Norland, Fenelon Falls, Lindsay, Omemee, and Pontypool.
Your privacy is valued and individual business data collected through this project is not shared publicly. Data is only shared between the City of Kawartha Lakes and the respective Chamber of Commerce and/or BIA in the area the business is located in.
If your business is located outside of the main survey areas, or your business wasn't able to be surveyed when our surveyors showed up, the survey is available below should you still want to participate.
